All of us can identify with having a time or few where we discovered that we weren’t going to be getting on the road at our predetermined time. You walk to your car and one of your tires are flat, you go to start your car and nothing turns over, or you search everywhere for your keys, only to find them locked in the car…in the ignition.
Maybe you’ve stepped out the door to find your car plastic wrapped, a tree laying on top of it, or your car stolen? Either way, we’ve all experienced delays. How do you respond?
After you pout to some degree or another (some more vocal than others), access the situation. Do you have to change your own tire, call for roadside assistance, or call the local authorities?
Now, since your momentum has been interrupted, I have a great idea…
Grab your camera and a tripod and have some fun! Be silly!
Aw, come on, you can do better than that…
I see what you did, in your sandals there. Good use of props, but you can do better!
Now you’re getting into the swing of things! Life happens. Someone will hand you lemons (steal your parking spot) while another will sling poo (vandalize your vehicle). Your response to a bump in the road will reveal the condition of your heart. We won’t always respond to our situations in a positive manner, nor can we control the outcome of any given situation, but one thing is certain, we all will have lots of opportunities to try, and try again!
You can’t possibly prepare for everything an adventure will throw at you, but remember, “no rain, no rainbows!”
